Evansville Police Department Foundation 2011 Scholarship winners
include:
Lauren Barnett, daughter of Michelle Barnett, has been
accepted into the Occupational Therapy Program at University of Southern Indiana. She
is on the USI Honor’s List, is the Fundraising Chair of the Student Occupational Therapy
Association and hopes to specialize in pediatrics.
Kelsey Gelzleichter, daughter of Paul Gelzleichter, is studying
health administration at the University of Southern Indiana. She has been nominated to
the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and helped with the first Policeman’s Ball.
Cameron Whitler, son of Keith Whitler, is attending Indiana
University, where he is studying pre-med. He is a member of the National Society of
Collegiate Scholars, the IU Arts and Sciences dean’s list and Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
Andrew James Brickner, the stepson of Sgt. Darren Sroufe, is
studying criminal justice at Ivy Tech, has actively participated in the Evansville Police
Department Law Enforcement Explorers since its inception and hopes to one day be a
police officer.
Lauren George, daughter of Rhonda Gassman, is studying
journalism and public relations at Indiana University. She is the vice president of
communication at her residence hall and is doing intern work at WFIU Harmonia in
Bloomington, Ind.
Laura Molinet, daughter of David and Joyce Molinet, attended
Reitz High School and plans on studying pre-veterinary medicine at Purdue in the fall.
Laura has grown up with police dogs in her family; as part of her senior project she
made and sold dog treats to purchase a bulletproof vest for a police dog.
