Mallory Lowe

Mallory Lowe is the daughter of EPD Detective Jack Lowe and is currently enrolled at the University of Southern Indiana studying elementary education and special education. 

She has received the David L. Rice Scholarship three years in a row, is a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters and works with children of various ages at the University of Southern Indiana Children’s Learning Center as well as Wadesville Christian Church Daycare. Aspirations after college are to obtain a job as an elementary teacher and coach volleyball and softball.

Carmen Alford

Carmen Alford is the daughter of EPD Detective Tim Alford and is a senior at Reitz High School and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy Direct Entry recipient from the University of Evansville. She has played volleyball and softball all four years of high school and has received numerous awards including but not limited to; Wendy’s High School Heisman School Winner, Courier & Press Star Student Award, 2018 Kiwanis Award (volleyball), softball and volleyball Academic All-City, and IHSVCA/ICGSA Academic All-State (volleyball).

As if she is not busy enough already with sports she also participates in Youth Resources Teen Advisory Council, Science Academic Team, Race for the Cure, and is currently a part-time Veterinary Assistant at St. Joe Veterinary Hospital.

Sydney Wilkerson

Sydney Wilkerson is the daughter of EPD Detective Quentin Wilkerson and is a freshman at the University of Southern Indiana majoring in Psychology on a Pre-Occupational Therapy Track.

While maintaining nearly almost a perfect GPA in high school she was an active member of the volleyball team all four years, participated in a number of high school clubs, and received various academic awards such as Academic All-State. As a freshman, she maintains a 4.0 GPA and works part-time at a local ice cream shop in Newburgh. Aspirations after college are to become an Occupational Therapist and work with special needs children.

Kyle Bickel

Kyle Bickel is the son of EPD Detective Tim Bickel and is a senior at Central High School. While playing varsity tennis Kyle is also involved in a number of activities including Varsity Singers, a member of the speech team, drama club, student council, and theatrical productions.

Academic achievements include Courier and Press star student, Lilly Endowment Scholarship finalist, class president, vice president of the drama club and thespian troupe, HOBY Indiana state representative, Academic All-City, and secretary of the National Honor Society. Kyle plans to attend Purdue University in the fall and graduate from the engineering program as a theatrical engineer.

Abby Jo Dickinson

Abby Jo Dickinson is the daughter of EPD Officer Joseph Dickinson and is a senior at Harrison High School. She is currently captain and 3rd baseman of the varsity softball team and team leader of the varsity basketball team.

While being a student-athlete she also participates in a number of activities including but not limited to; the Pride Tribe, National Honor Society, Link Leaders, Shepard Leadership and Law Academy, Teen Advisory Council, and Young Life. Next year Abby plans on attending Indiana University and studying Biology with an emphasis in the field of Optometry.

Cassandra Carlile

Cassandra Carlile is the daughter of EPD Officer Steven Carlile and is currently a sophomore scholar-athlete studying Kinesiology at Auburn University where she is on the Dean’s List Academic Honor Roll and is a member of the Track and Field Team.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from North High School with Academic All-City Honors and a GPA of 3.9 and received a number of Academic and Athletic awards including Academic All-City Track and Field, Distinguished Honor Roll, a member of the National Honor Society, and Kiwanis Award Recipient for Marketing and Advertising. After college, she plans on entering the field of Occupational or Physical Therapy and will also look to coach at the collegiate level.

Katherine Hahn

Katherine Hahn is the daughter of EPD Lt. Robert Hahn and is a senior at Mater Dei. She is the captain of the soccer team where she has led her team to state twice where they have won back to back years. She has received numerous soccer awards including Academic All-City, Academic All-State, First Team All-City and All-State, and All-Metro Team.

While off the field Katherine participates in the Mater Dei Student Council, Riley’s Children’s Hospital Dance Marathon fundraiser coordinator, Peer Mediation group, soccer referee, and is a caregiver for special needs children at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. After high school, she plans on attending the University of Southern Indiana and receive a bachelor’s degree in Nursing with an emphasis on Neonatal Nursing.

Nathaneal Smith

Nathaneal Smith is the son of Sergeant Samuel Smith and is a junior at Indiana University where he is majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Criminal Justice and possibly Mathematics. Currently, he is a member of the Alpha Chi Sigma-Professional Chemistry Fraternity and an Undergraduate Researcher conducting research in using nanoparticles for anti-counterfeit applications.

He was an intern at The Wonderlab Museum of Science, Health, and Technology where he designed many outreach programs such as the Monroe County Pumpkin Launch and STEM Sunday. After college, he plans on pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemistry and apply this knowledge to the field of Criminal Justice.

 Jordan Phelps

Jordan Phelps is the grandson of Retired Sergeant James Schmitt and is a freshman at Vincennes University where he is part of the Automotive Technology Program. He graduated from Mater Dei High School where he was part of the Marching Band and was a member of the Lacrosse Team where he was a mentor to the underclassman. After college, he plans on owning his own automotive shop.
